George Rucker's Pneumatic Newsletter for November 14, 2017

 Greetings,                                                                                14 Nov. 1917

Why I Love Getting Older!

1. My goal for 2017 was to lose 10 pounds. Only 15 to go.

2. Ate salad for dinner. Mostly croutons & tomatoes. Really just one big round crouton covered with tomato sauce. And cheese. FINE, it was a pizza.. I ate a pizza.

3. How to prepare Tofu:

   a. Throw it in the trash

   b. Grill some meat

4. I just did a week's worth of cardio after walking into a spider web.

5. I don't mean to brag, but I finished my 14-day diet food in 3 hours and 20 minutes.

6. A recent study has found women who carry a little extra weight live longer than men who mention it.

7. Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

8. Senility has been a smooth transition for me.

9. Remember back when we were kids and every time it was below zero outside they closed school? Me neither.

10. I may not be that funny or athletic or good looking or smart or talented. I forgot where I was going with this.

11. I love being almost (fill in your age) I learn something new every day and forget 5 others.

12. A thief broke into my house last night. He started searching for money so I woke up and searched with him.

13. I think I'll just put an "Out of Order" sticker on my forehead and call it a day.

14. November 5, 2017 is the end of Daylight Savings Time. Hope you don't forget to set your bathroom scale back 10 pounds on Sunday night.

15. Just remember, once you're over the hill you begin to pick up speed..

Gigantic Apes Coexisted with Early Humans, Study Finds
By Bjorn Carey | November 7, 2005 in a copy of Live Science

A gigantic ape standing 10 feet tall and weighing up to 1,200 pounds lived alongside humans for over a million years, according to a new study.

Fortunately for the early humans, the huge primate's diet consisted mainly of bamboo.

Scientists have known about Gigantopithecus blackii since the accidental discovery of some of its teeth on sale in a Hong Kong pharmacy about 80 years ago. While the idea of a giant ape piqued the interest of scientists – and bigfoot hunters – around the world, it was unclear how long ago this beast went extinct.

Precise dating

Now Jack Rink, a geochronologist at McMaster University in Ontario, has used a high-precision absolute-dating method to determine that this ape – the largest primate ever – roamed Southeast Asia for nearly a million years before the species died out 100,000 years ago during the Pleistocene period. By this time, humans had existed for a million years.

What happened?

Humans may have helped destroy the ape.

Further studies of the teeth revealed that the ape was an herbivore, and bamboo was probably its favorite meal. Some scientists believe that an appetite focused on bamboo combined with increasing competition from more nimble humans eventually led to the extinction of Gigantopithecus.

So you wonder why I looked this up?  Well my Avatar “Ben There” killed one this week.  In my search for its location within the game of Final Fantasy XIV (zone and coordinates) I saw it was once a real animal.  Who ever wrote this Multi-Player game must have done some research.

PRESIDENT’S CABINET .... You may not  like Trump, but read this.......

These numbers help explain why these  last eight years were disastrous for the USA. I read the last item and then look at Trump's Cabinet. No wonder Washington, DC is in a turmoil.

Trump's picks are bosses who expect their employees to work.  This is what bothers a lot of people about Trump. He won't accept a can't do attitude, or inexperienced, incompetent performance. He will get results; it just might not be smooth or pretty.

Here are some truly amazing statistics.  Make sure you read to the bottom.  An eye opener!

These 10 States now have more people on welfare than they do employed!
 1. California
 2. New Mexico
 3. Mississippi
 4. Alabama
 5. Illinois
 6. Kentucky
 7. Ohio
 8. New York
 9. Maine
 10.South Carolina
Last month, the Senate Budget Committee reports that in fiscal year 2012, between food stamps, housing support, child care, Medicaid and other benefits, the average U.S. Household below the poverty line received $168.00 a day in government support.

What's the problem with that much support? Well, the median household income in America is just over $50,000, which averages out to $137.13 a day.

To put it another way, being on welfare now pays the equivalent of $30.00 an hour for 40 hour week, while the average job pays $24.00 an hour.

Check the last set of statistics!!

The percentage of each past president's cabinet who had worked in the private business sector prior to their appointment to the cabinet.  You know what the
private business sector is: A real-life business job not a government job.
 Here are the percentages:
 38% T. Roosevelt
 40% Taft
 52% Wilson
 49% Harding
 48% Coolidge
 42% Hoover
 50% F. D. Roosevelt
 50% Truman
 57% Eisenhower
 30% Kennedy
 47% Johnson
 53% Nixon
 42% Ford
 32% Carter
 56% Reagan
 51% G H Bush
 39% Clinton
 55% G W Bush
 8% Obama
 90% Trump

This helps explain the bias, if not the incompetence, of the last administration: ONLY 8% of them have ever worked in private business!  That's right! Only eight percent - the
least, by far of the last 19 presidents! And these people tried to tell our corporations how to run their businesses?

How could Obama, president of a major nation and society, the one with the most successful economic system in world history, stand and talk about business when he's never worked for one?  Or about jobs when he has never really had one? And, when it's the same for 92% of his senior staff and closest advisers? They've spent most of their time in academia, government, and/or non-profit jobs or as "community organizers."

Probably a good idea to pass this on, because we'll NEVER see these facts in the main stream media, or from the alphabet networks.  On Friday, the Trump administration released their annual report to Congress on White House Office Personnel. It includes the name, status, salary and position title of all 377 White House employees. The report also said that Trump decided not to take a dime of his salary, instead he donated it to an amazing cause! (see below).

The report also showed that President Trump is far better at saving money than Obama was. The total annual White House salaries under trump are $35.8  million vs. $40.9 under Obama, a savings of $5.1 million.

Here are some other key findings.  There are 110 fewer employees on White House staff under Trump than under Obama at this point in their respective presidencies.  Nineteen fewer staffers are dedicated to The First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS).  Currently, there are five staffers dedicated to Melania Trump vs. 24 staffers who served Michelle Obama (FY2009).

However, it's what the report said Trump did with this salary that has everyone talking.
Instead of taking his salary, Trump donated all $400,000 to the Department of the Interior where it will be used for construction and repair needs at military cemeteries! AMAZING!

It's so great to have a President who respects our brave military men and women so much!  Oh, and where's the media coverage of this?

Oh that's right, they don't cover anything good that this President does.

Is There a Difference Between Baking and Roasting a Chicken?

Well, yes; but these days, the difference is mostly a question of semantics. Initially, “to roast” meant to cook over an open flame. You roasted a whole chicken on a spit. Today, though, you typically roast that whole chicken in the oven, where you do your baking, too. Both methods use dry heat to cook the insides and crisp up the outsides.

But if you want to get technical, there’s this. When you roast a chicken or a butternut squash or rack of lamb, you’re roasting something that is essentially whole. It has that complete structure, that one-ness about it. On the other hand, when you bake bread or a chicken casserole, you’re cooking a collection of distinct ingredients into a uniform whole; through baking, they become one.

There are other quasi-defining features of roasting versus baking. Did you cover the pan? You might be baking. Just be careful that you’re not actually braising (which would require a little liquid in the pot and a tight lid). Roasts, as they did back in the days when meat hovered over open flames, are often cooked without covering. Did you baste? You’re probably roasting.

Bottom line: there’s plenty of gray area; and you certainly wouldn’t be ridiculous using baked and roasted interchangeably.

This is the time of the year when it is very hard to pick out a recipe.  Most of the recipes people use are as good as it gets.  Sometime I just use a cranberry recipe, but if you buy a bag, you will find a pretty good one on the side of it.

I think I will try to find a stuffing recipe, as the box and bag recipes are ok but not spectacular.  First I will search for the “Worlds Greatest Stuffing” recipe.  Good grief they all get five stars.  McCormick has one using cranberries and apples, that sounds good.  Anything using corn bread is out as it gets soggy and slimy.  I put a line through any using either dried or fresh mushrooms.  Wild rice and quinoa are both off the list.  Lets cross all gluten-free items as they are just medium at best.  I see some are all vegan but isn’t all stuffing basically vegan plus you are eating it with turkey.  Pear and apple are also off the list as pears are so juice you might as well cook watermelon.  Patty says do not put meat into stuffing, as my wife I must agree.  I found one that claims to be “Absolutely the best stuffing...ever!”  This is posted by Lorrie in Montreal  http://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/absolutely-the-best-stuffing-ever-226115

Absolutely the Best Stuffing... Ever!

Ingredients

    ½  cup butter (1 stick)
1 lb bacon, thick sliced cut into 1-inch cubes semi frozen and use scissors for easy cutting (I give bacon a pass as it can do nothing but help the recipe.)
    1 large onion, chopped
    2 -4 celery ribs, chopped
1 loaf white bread, more if needed (use fresh or stale but still soft cut into 1-inch cubes. Use a serrated knife so as not to squish it)
½  cup turkey gizzard, boiled and chopped fine (optional) (I think this should be omitted as who would put anything that is like liver into the stuffing)

 Directions

In a large bowl place the bread cubes; set aside. In large skillet, melt butter. Add bacon and sauté until bacon is cooked but not crisp.

Add onion and celery, cook until the onions are almost translucent and bacon starts to crisp. Do not drain. Remove skillet from stove; allow 10 minutes or so to cool.

Pour over bread cubes (with optional gizzards) and toss. It should be cool enough now to mix with hands (squishing like making a meatloaf). Stuff and tie turkey or chickens.

Cook as directed for STUFFED turkey or chicken.

Q: When does Christmas come before Thanksgiving?
A: In the dictionary!

////////////////////////////////////////

Billy: I can’t wait to go to Grandma’s for Thanksgiving.  My cousin’s going to be there, and he has three feet!

Willie: Wow!  How’d that happen?

Billy: I don’t know.  My aunt wrote my parents and said, “you won’t recognize little Howie.  He’s grown another foot.”

When I was a boy, my momma would send me down to a corner store with $1 and I’d come back with 5 potatoes, 2 loaves of bread, 3 bottles of milk, a hunk of cheese, a box of tea and 6 egg.

You can’t do that now...
Too many security cameras.

Retired Person's Perspective

1. I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people.  I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem work itself out.

2. I changed my car horn to gunshot sounds.  People move out of the way much faster now.

3. You can tell a lot about a woman's mood just by her hands.  If they are holding a gun, she's probably very unhappy.

4. You know that tingly little feeling you get when you really like someone you've just met?  That's common sense leaving your body.

5. I don't like making plans for the day. Because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around in the courtroom.

6. I didn't make it to the gym today.  That makes 1,500 days in a row.

7. I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim.  I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

8. Dear paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers: If you find one, what's your plan?

9. Everyone has a right to be stupid.  Politicians just abuse the privilege.

Old age is not as bad as I thought.  It's a good feeling when you just don't give a hoot anymore and you feel happy just to wake up in the morning.

Whether you lean Left or Right politically, This article should greatly concern you. It exposes the activities of our ex-President (financially supported by Socialist George Soros) and is a direct threat to our Republic. I don't see a way to stop what appears to be a systematic tearing down of America.

An article by Charles K. it should be a Halloween message.

                         New York Post:

I do not understand how living in a country with its democracy established over 200 years ago, and now, for the first time in history, suddenly we have one of our former presidents set up a group called "Organizing for Action" (OFA).

OFA is 30,000+ strong and working to disrupt everything that our current president’s administration is trying to do. This organization goes against our Democracy, and it is an operation that will destroy our way of governing. It goes against our Constitution, our laws, and the processes established over 200 years ago. If it is allowed to proceed then we will be living in chaos very much like third world countries are run. What good is it to have an established government if it is not going to be respected and allowed to follow our laws?

If you had an army some 30,000 strong and a court system stacked over the decades with judges who would allow you to break the laws, how much damage could you do to a country? We are about to find out in America!

Our ex-president said he was going to stay involved through community organizing and speak out on the issues and that appears to be one post-administration promise he intends to keep. He has moved many of his administration's top dogs over to Organizing for Action.

OFA is behind the strategic and tactical implementation of the resistance to the Trump Administration that we are seeing across America, and politically active courts are providing the leverage for this revolution.

OFA is dedicated to organizing communities for "progressive" change. Its issues are gun control, socialist healthcare, abortion, sexual equality, climate change, and of course, immigration reform.

OFA members were propped up by the ex-president's message from the shadows: "Organizing is the building block of everything great we have accomplished Organizers around the country are fighting for change in their communities and OFA is one of the groups on the front lines. Commit to this work in 2017 and beyond."

OFA's website says it obtained its "digital" assets from the ex-president's re-election effort and that he inspired the movement. In short, it is the shadow government organization aimed at resisting and tearing down the Constitutional Republic we know as AMERICA.

Paul Sperry, writing for the New York Post, says, “The OFA will fight President Donald Trump at every turn of his presidency and the ex-president will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House."

Sperry writes that, “The ex-president is setting up a shadow government to sabotage the Trump administration through a network of non-profits led by OFA, which is growing its war chest (more than $40 million) and has some 250 offices nationwide. The OFA IRS filings, according to Sperry, indicate that the OFA has 32,525 (and growing) volunteers nationwide. The ex-president and his wife will oversee the operation from their home/ office in Washington DC.

Think about how this works.. For example: Trump issues an immigration executive order; the OFA signals for protests and statements from pro-immigrant groups; the ACLU lawyers file lawsuits in jurisdictions where activist judges obstruct the laws; volunteers are called to protest at airports and Congressional town hall meetings; the leftist media springs to action in support of these activities; the twitter sphere lights up with social media; and violence follows. All of this happens from the ex-president's signal that he is heartened by the protests.

If Barack Obama did not do enough to destroy this country in the 8 years he was in office, it appears his future plans are to destroy the foundation on which this country has operated on for the last 241 years.

If this does not scare you, then we are in worse trouble than you know.

So, do your part. You have read it, so at least pass this on so others will know what we are up against. We are losing our country and we are so compliant. We are becoming a "PERFECT TARGET" for our enemy!

                        Charles Krauthammer
